race pace
NFC band help
your band connects your Race class times with your personal account. you only need to activate it once.
- 1. scan the band with your phone.
open race pace and create an account or sign in. - 2. confirm the band link.
check that you are signed in to your own account, then confirm. - 3. join an active Race class.
the readers glow green when scans are accepted. - 4. scan to start and stop.
use the same band at each station. your times and leaderboard update automatically after a valid stop.
if something does not work
red reader: the scan was rejected or the reader needs attention. try once more after the error flashes have stopped.
no time appears: check that the class is live, the reader is green, and the band is linked in your profile.
band belongs to another account: ask the studio team to remove the old assignment before trying again.
new phone: no new setup is needed. sign in with the same account and keep using your band.
support and legal
staff help: reader LED guide
the normal status light describes the reader state. a short colour flash immediately after a scan is only feedback for that scan.
blue breathing
reader, network, and Edge Hub are connected. no Race class is currently accepting scans.
dim green
a Race class is live and the reader accepts NFC bands.
short bright green
a start scan was accepted.
short orange
a stop scan was accepted and sent. if no time appears, the previous station was automatically closed by starting somewhere else.
short yellow
the scan was ignored, usually because the band was scanned again too quickly.
short magenta
this station or race was already finished for the band.
short cyan
the scan was accepted and safely buffered while the upstream connection recovers.
breathing cyan
an OTA firmware download is running. do not disconnect power or ethernet.
white flashing
the identify function was started by staff to locate this reader.
single short red
the current scan was rejected, or an OTA update failed. wait for the normal status and try once more.
repeating bright-red error codes
the reader repeats the flashes, pauses, and then starts the same group again.
1 flash: no ethernet link or no IP address.
2 flashes: ethernet works, but the Edge Hub is not acknowledging the reader.
3 flashes: device key, authentication, or provisioning is missing or invalid.
if an error continues, check Pace Control first. do not replace the reader key or reflash firmware until its network, Edge Hub, and authentication status have been identified.
